Christmastime is here! As the kids get older, it is more and more fun to experience things like Christmas with them. We've been talking to Oliver for a while about Christmas and Jesus' birthday and reading the Christmas story. He also loves rudolph, Santa (who's coming down our chimney) and Frosty the Snowman. He may or may not choose to read "Frosty" for his bedtime story over "The Christmas Story." Don't judge. Isn't it true that the magic of Christmas is so much greater through the eyes of a child? So far, we've been doing lots of fun Christmas activities to get us out of the house in this COLD weather! One morning we went downtown to the Hyatt to see all of the Christmas trees. Oliver LOVED it! He was such a big boy walking with mommy and not touching any of the ornaments. He was very obedient. He, of course, was obsessed with "The Farm Bureau" tree as it was decked out with farm animals, of which he is OBSESSED with right now. We were about to leave when a group of elementary age kids came into the atrium of the hotel and prepared to sing Christmas carols. Oliver would not be left out. He got right up there with them, stood in that crowd of kids, and sang too. It was hysterical. Unfortunately, for the first 5 minutes, no one was paying attention to the poor kids singing their hearts out because Oliver was so stinking cute. ;) I would love to show you that video, but blogger won't upload it for me.

In addition to seeing the trees, the whole family went out to Simpsonville one night to ride the train at Heritage Park. Normally, this train only runs in the summer time; however, it was open for one week during December so the kids could ride, and visit with Santa, Rudolph and Frosty. Oliver was afraid of Santa, but he was not scared of that train! He LOVED it! It was SO cold that night. I dressed Stetson in his Halloween costume because it's one of the warmest things he has. Not to be outdone, Oliver insisted on wearing his Halloween attire too. So be it. Two boys, riding the Christmas train, in their Halloween costumes. What's that saying about picking your battles?
Kisses.

Too cute!! Love your family! Merry Christmas!!
That look from Stetson is hysterical! I think you were very wise in that battle - I mean, if some drunkard can dress up as Santa, why can't Oliver dress in his pretend clothes, too? :)
