Updates.

I promised an adoption update back in October. Is it really almost Christmas? How did almost two months just pass. Anyways.

We finished up our home study the 2nd week in October and shortly after that, we were done and approved! Now we are officially waiting. :) There are two ways that we could be placed with a child. The first is the most likely.

Profile book matching: We made an extensive profile book (ie: scrapbook) during our process that is kept at each one of the state's Bethany offices. When an expectant mother/parents come in to make an adoption plan they are able to view all the profile books made by prospective adoptive couples. They pick their favorite books and go on to meet those couples in person. Once you meet and feel like your families will make a good match, then you are "placed" with a baby.

Recruitment emails: In addition to having our profile in Bethany's offices, we also have a profile online. However, in some cases Bethany sends out recruitment emails for children that are "harder to place." Harder to place children usually include older children, multiples, children with disorders etc. We have received three emails in two months. You may respond as you feel led to and if you have an interest in that certain case, you may then pursue it.

The average wait time with Bethany is 9 months from the start of the process to placement. We started in July. So, we're officially waiting. And, we're OK with that. God's grace on this journey and the peace we have now has been so amazing. We know that in God's time, our child will come home.....

And, we're not exactly sitting around on the couch twiddling our thumbs while we wait. Remember these two?

Ah, yes, THEM. They are every bit of 3 and 2, and they are the crazy, energy sucking loves of my life! More on them in another post!

Back to the adoption. Since October, we've had several fundraisers and been extremely blessed by God's provision for us financially. People have given sacrificially and selflessly to our fund and we desire for you to know that you have not only blessed us, but you have helped to further God's kingdom by helping to bring our baby home! We still have more money to raise/save to have the full amount, but we continue to rely on God's promises as He has not failed us yet.

What about you? How has God been faithful to you in the past months? Any crazy 2 and 3 year olds keeping you busy? If not, I have some you could borrow......only kidding.

The Lord has definitely been faithful to Ryan and I with the birth of our son. His protection over the two of us was clearly seen on October 3rd and we are so thankful. We are thankful for your obedience to follow through with the process of adoption! We can't wait to meet this sweet little one when the time comes! Love you!
